Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Georgia

An ex-male friend of mine has photos taken without my consent of me without clothing on. He has threatened to send these in an email stating that I was a homosexual and that I had been in a relationship with him for several years. This is all a lie. If he goes through with this, can I sue him? Can I sue him for the threat?

P.S. The photos were taken during a video chat.

If he were to actually go through with it, you would most likely have causes of action including defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and invasion of privacy. While you may have causes of actions for his mere threats, any claim you would have would be much stronger if he actually sent out the photos.

With that said, it may be a good idea to send him a letter warning him of the legal repercussions of such behavior. Hopefully, it would make him think twice before engaging in such behavior and be sufficient to deter him from taking any such action.
