Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Georgia

sexual harrassment/work

my husband's co-worker keeps making advances towards him all day at work via email and nextel. This has almost caused a divorce. She has been asked to stop by my husband and myself, yet it continues. Is there anything i can do to make her stop?

If your husband does not want to consult an attorney for a free or low consultation, he should visit the EEOC website. www.EEOC.gov. This website will give you a detailed overview of the sexual harassment laws and employee rights. The most important consideration is whether the size of your husband's employer places it under the federal sexual harassment laws.

If your husband's employer falls under the federal sexual harassment laws there is certainly something he can do about it. Moreover, if proper procedures are followed your husband will be protected against retaliation.

If your husband decides to consult an attorney, make sure the attorney has experience with sexual harrassment cases.

YOU can probably do little or nothing. You are not a party to the activity. Your husband can do the obvious - address it with the co-worked or management (assuming the co-worker is not management). If it almost caused a divorce, there are obviously many more details than would be appropriate to address here.
