Legal Question in Traffic Law in Georgia

I was just sided for speeding in Newton County (GA). When I saw the posted 35 mile an hour sign I slowed down, several hundred feet ahead of the sign sat a Sheriff deputy. By the time I was behind the deputy I was only driving 38 miles an hour. The deputy followed me for about 1/4 to 1/2 mile until I signed to turn left. He then, placed his siren on. He claimed to "clock" me going 55 in a 35. The whole road is not signed for 35 miles an hour. Again, when I saw the sign, prior to seeing the deputy, I slowed down. Note the deputy cruiser was facing the opposite direction. The same direction I was going and the deputy was ahead of me. Do I have any recourse?

Your "recourse" is to contest the ticket. It does no good to tell the story here, and the deputy will likely have a different version.
