Need advice on what document to put in place for elderly mother w/limited assets; 8 grown children; husband deceased. Biggest asset is a home in Louisville which we are trying to sell. She is 83, less than $10k on hand cash, no other real assets.

Any senior citizen should have powers of attorney for health care and financial matters, as well as a living will, if she is so inclined. She should also have a will in place and consider having a consultation with an elder law attorney to discuss Medicaid and other long term health care issues.
