My husband just died ,how do I get widows support for 1 year?

You will need to file for it. The loss of your spouse is a traumatic event. You would do well to at least consult with a probate attorney to learn not only about filing for the widow's allowance, but also whether an estate needs to be probated and to assist you with that. Further, your spouse has to have probate assets in order to pay the allowance. I assume your husband does but you and the probate attorney need to review whether your husband had a will or not, whether he had any children with you or from another marriage or relationship, what debts there are, if any, and so forth. As attorney Ashman indicates, you should not delay.
