Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Georgia

Interest on accounts

My aunt passed away intestate in Georgia. The l;awyer handling the estate refuses to answer any questions. The big one I have concerns interest earned by the funds through CDs and interest bearing accounts. He is claiming 10% of that as commission; all I can find on the OCGA is he can claim 2.5% on money earned or disbursed by the estate and 10% interest on money loaned; no money has been loaned. He says I'm wrong, but won't explain how - can you? We're looking at commission on interest earned on over $400,000, so it's a sizeable chunk!

Re: Interest on accounts

His commission should be 2.5% of monies received and 2.5% of monies distributed, for a total of 5%. Consult with another attorney in the county of the residence of the aunt at the time of her death.
