Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Georgia

I have made a will and would like to find if it is totally acceptable in Georgia. What would it cost for a review and any advice on needed changes or corrections?

That is a question for the lawyers in your area who primarily handle will and estate matters. Call a couple and ask. Keep in mind it likely will be easier for them to just start fresh rather than try to review and change what you have done.

It depends on the complexity of the will and how many changes, corrections, and conversations with you are needed. Typically, lawyers are going to charge you by the hour. As such, the longer you keep a lawyer on the phone, the more emails he has to respond to, the longer it takes him to correct what you've done, the more your bill will be.

Mr. Riddle is correct, if the will isn't in decent shape, it may be easier to simply start fresh. I'm happy to give you a referral for an excellent estates and trust attorney who is reasonably priced (no, it's not me!). Please feel free to email me.

Best of luck. *****The above is for informational purposes only and does not create an attorney-client privilege.*******

Different lawyers may charge very different fees.

My office generally charges about $100 for an brief initial consult to review a prior will for its suitability if an estate is modest and not complex (I'd need more details to answer further). If it is one that is less than optimal, it is generally far cheaper and better at that point to allow us to draft a new one than to play with rewriting an existing one.

It is likely if you self-prepared a will that it will be less than optimal.
