Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Georgia

My wife recently died and left her house in a will to myself and 2 grown daughers of hers, who are my step-daughters as I have no children of my own. We live in Georgia. The house was purchased by her around 1994 before we met or were married. It is worth abou 90k and there is about 47k still owed on it. She left credit card debt of about 20k.

I don't want this headache of 3 people owning the house anymore, so can I some way, some how give my one-third interest to the girls without their consent?

You did not tel us what they said when you asked them if they wanted your interest, or perhaps wanted to purchase it? You also don't have to accept it. Either way, how it is handled depends on other facts not provided, assuming there is equity after debts are paid.

You may have the option of refusing to accept the inheritance.

I'd need to know more to figure out options. But you cannot deed the home to them without their consent.

Feel free to call me with details if you're in or near metro Atlanta.
