Legal Question in Workers Comp in Georgia

how long do i have to file a case

I hurt myself at work at the end of 2005 and i could not write so the assitant manager wrote it for me and put down what he wanted to and at that moment i said if the injury gets worse i'll go to the doctor but after 3 days it was alot worse so i had to go to the emergency room and they wrote it up as carpal tunnel syn. My fingers were black and my arm shoulder and neck was killing me the er doc took me out of work for aday then i went back the next day and both the assitant and plant manager jumped me i showed them the doc paper and what was wrong they told me i was lying because the doc put on the paper upper right extremity

arm shoulder and neck pain and they said upper extremity meant the head which it doesn't so they send me to a workers comp doctor and while waiting for the doc i saw on my file to check only the knot in my wrist and when i questioned the doctor he said he could only check what they say but that was not what was wrong with me but beforing sending me to the doc they wrote out another injury form

as it turned out i had to use my medical ins. And find my own doc as it turned out i had a strained cervical nerve and strained muscles in my neck shoulder and arm as well as tunnel syndrome i had surgery

You typically have one year from the date of injury to file a workers' compensation claim. However, there are many exceptions to this rule. You will certainly want to consult with a workers' compensation attorney as soon as possible to determine your options.
