medical insurance premium

my employer pays 1/2 of my medical insurance. i have been paying my insurance premium by check since my injury in may, 2004.i was informed effective nov. 1 i have to pay all my medical insurance (premiums doubled). can my employer do this?

The medical insurance premium about which you are talking is unrelated to the workers' compensation claim. It is your major medical and hospitalization coverage and depending on how long you are out of work, the extent to which you have disability coverage, and other similar issues, at some point the provision of COBRA kick in as it relates to contiuing your personal insurance coverage. I suspect this is what you are talking about, and if this is correct, I fear your employer can indeed leave it to you to continue to pay for your coverage.

You should speak to an attorney who handles these type claims to have him review your particular plan.
