Legal Question in Workers Comp in Georgia

w.c. not getting the diagnosis it wants

My husband has been sent, by the w.c. company, to several orthopedic doctors who have diagnosed nerve damage and have scheduled nerve conduction studies. We also got a diagnosis of nerve damage from our family doctor, a general practitioner. The latest doctor he was sent to specializes in brachial plexus injuries, but after the initial examination, the follow-up and the ordered tests were canceled by the w.c. insurance company. New tests to yet another diagnostic center were scheduled, and according to the company that does the scheduling, these tests' purpose are to eliminate nerve damage as a cause of the numbness, paralysis, and pain. We believe there IS nerve damage, as the first test and examinations by 3 other doctors have indicated. Do we have to pay out of pocket for further evidence of nerve damage by an objective doctor who bases diagnoses on exams and tests, or do we have to go along with the w.c. 's ''cheaper'' diagnosis? How do we get the w.c. insurance company to address the real problem?
