Worker comp benefits

I injured Myself on the job in 2006. as a result I have had 5 Surgries so far. on My Neck twice, both Shoulders and My Rt. MY Attorney accepted and offer from the Insurance Company without My knowledge at the time. I was told He filed and Order with W/C to stop My benefits, Now I cannot get futher or future Medical Care without going through My Insurance Carrier. This action as cause great stresses and struggles Financially for Me to say the least. Please advise Me on what recourse do I have If any. Thank You In advance.

Are you sure that you did not sign settlement papers? It would be very unusual for any lawyer to settle a case like this without permission from his client.

In a comp settlement, you have to personally sign the stipulation so even a verbal "settlement agreement" cannot go through without your signature. Obviously if the lawyer forged your name, that is a bigger issue - you need to retain counsel immediately.

With regard to medical care, you may have a claim for Social Security disability, which, if approved, would entitle you to Medicare benefits. You can apply for SSDI by calling Social Security or visiting ssa.gov.
