Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Germany

Inheritance from germany

I have been contacted by an attorney in the US who was contacted by an attorney in Germany regarding an inheritance from a deceased family member. I was told it was approximately $300,000, that the attorneys in Germany would receive 50% (I don't know if this is their fee or if its for taxes) and the Us attorney would charge 33% to collect this money for us. Is a 50% fee being charged by the German lawyers legal in that country? Is there a way I can get this money w/o going through the US attorney? Thank you

Re: Inheritance from germany

As I am licensed in Germany for 30 years have never seen that an attorney can charge 50 %. Germany has a written code and law for attorney fees and it seems someone will pull...Also I cannot recommend to pay the US attorney 33 % which is way to high.. They take advantage of you. Do you know who the decised relative is, if not it could be a scam
