Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Hawaii

California & Hawaii

I co-signed on a car loan to help a friend out and after a couple of months, he decides to skip on the monthly payments. Then the loan company repo's the car and is unable to contact the friend and calls to tell me that I am responsible for the car loan. I go ahead and make repayment arrangements with the loan company. Although I have taken necessary steps to pay this loan, the company does not send me a bill or statement, only an account number. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you very much.

You are entitled to all account records, including info on co-debtor ( who I would go after ). You may wish to do a skip trace on that party.

Call or email for further assistance.
