bad DUI need help

I went to a bar with a DD, and woke up at a traffic light at 3am by a cop. bad deal. I blew a .256. I had no idea how I got there. this has never happened to me before. I have recieved one dwi in texas in 1998. this will be my 2nd. The place was in Kona, Big Island. Does anyone have any suggestions. I am thinking of representing myself. I am in college in Hilo full time. arrainment is dec. 11. right before finals. I also already have tickets to visit Texas for three weeks over xmas. non-refundable. I don't know how Hawaii courts act to 30yr old college students who have a schedules. Any suggestions?

Re: bad DUI need help

when you appear at the initial appearance, you should request a public defender. If you qualify for free assistance the public defender will represent you. If you don't qualify, you should hire a lawyer.
