Legal Question in Family Law in Hawaii

Child Support Calculator and Additional folow-on Children

I was divorced 1995 in Hawaii and I am currently on an agreed amount of child support based on an ammendment. That ammendment expires July 2003. I have had an additional child with my 2nd wife. Does a follow-on child factor into the Hawaii child support calculation?

Re: Child Support Calculator and Additional folow-on Children

Thank you for your e-mail concerning child support. Child support can be modified whenever there is a "change in circumstances." Change in circumstances would include lapse of 3 years since entry of last order and any subsequently born children. You may wish to pursue a modification of your child support obligation. Please do not rely on this advice without first consulting with an attorney personally. The experienced Family Law attorneys of our firm can assist you. If you wish to make an appointment, please call my office to schedule a meeting (or telephone conference) to discuss your issues. No attorney/client relationship has been created in this e-mail. Good luck to you. K.Scheiner, Managing Partner Family Law Dept, Gerstein Grayson, LLP
