In a hearing to decide the issue of who should have custody of the child and where the child should live, a court having jurisdiction(power) to decide the matter, will always factor into its decision the wishes of a 15 year old child, but will also consider other relevant factors in coming to a final decision regarding what, ultimately, is in the child's best interests.

I concur with the existing reply. I would add that there are insufficient facts & background.

i.e. What are the existing formal agreements concerning custody and residence of the minor?

What are the existing court orders, if any relating to minor's custody? Marital legal status of natural parents? Etc. Barring some kind of fraud, it would appear that current jurisdiction of the minor's status is in Hawahii.
