Legal Question in Employment Law in Hawaii

Termination

I was terminated for allegedllly embezzeling funds. I did not take any money. They cannot provide any proof of any kind connecting me with this. Another employee was arrested after my termination for stealing funds. On the days the funds went missing I was not even at work.On the days the funds went missing the other girl was working. Yet they still insist I did it. I would like to know how I can clear my name and if I have any chance of suing these people.I need to clear my name of this false accusation if I want to get another job, which I need in order to support myself and my three year old son.I don't have the money for a lawyer and legal aid said they do not handle this type of cases. I don't know what to do.

Re: Termination

I would need to obtain your city and employer. I would refer you to local counsel if I could not assist. Likely I would do for flat fee. But in the meantime you should apply for Unemployment Benefits and ask ( in writing) for the reason you were terminated (send certified mail).
