Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Hawaii

I have recently moved out of a house that was rented by my ex boyfriend, my brother in-law and I. We are all signed on the lease of the house and I have heard that my brother in-law is thinking of bring me to small claims if I don't pay for my part of the rent. I called our realtor and the told me that I am not able to take my name off the lease unless both of them agree, which of course they wouldn't. I'm not sure of what I to do with this situation but I don't feel comfortable and unsafe moving back to that house. Please help.

If you feel unsafe in the house, then a letter should be drafted to the other two tenants telling them that you moved out because you felt unsafe and that if they prefer you can file a Temporary Restraining Order against them and they can move out of the rental. Also, notify them that if they do not agree to take over your portion of the lease you will notify the Landlord of the same. Aloha, Jon A. Zahaby, Esq.
