Legal Question in Business Law in Idaho

Corporatin documents

Is there a law that prohibits a layman from drawing up his/her own documents? Such as a Limited partnership. Where can I get info on what is requird to submit and record such documents?

Thank you

Re: Corporatin documents

There is no law against drawing up your own documents. The law concerning drawing up a limited partnership are in the Idaho State Statutes which you can find on line at http://www3.state.id.us/legislat/idstat.html but I would not suggest that you form a limited partnership without having an attorney review them for you. You can save some money by drawing up the document and only have an attorney make sure that you have gotten all of the required elements in the document so that there is no question in the future about proper formation. Have you thought about using a limited liability company instead of a limited partnership?

This answer was not given to form an attorney client relationship but to give direction as to where to find the answer.

Good Luck.
