Legal Question in Business Law in Idaho

My parents are elderly and want to put me on their checking account so I can help them with their bills, etc. Would my being on their checking account make me, in any way, financially responsible for them ? For example, if they were involved in a car accident and were sued, could my personal assets be attached as part of a lawsuit? I want to help them, but do not want to be financially responsible for their actions.

Any attorney will say if you are just an authorized signer on their checking account, you will be fine. This is not making you a partner, etc. that might expose your to personal liability and you'll be helping your parents. Consult with an attorney in your area for specifics.
