Legal Question in DUI Law in Idaho

dui no insurance

I was involved in an accident with another motorist. At the time i was issued a DWI citation. I had no insurance on my car. I only owned it for a short while and had not insured it. I am being contacted by the other parties attorney. I am lost as to my legal recourse in the matter regarding both the other parties possible lawsuit and my impending court date for the DWI. I have a great job and i do not want to jeopardize it.

You need an attorney and you need one asap. DUIs are very serious. Whether or not an attorney could help you depends on your prior criminal record including whether you have ever been convicted of a DUI before.

You may not have to be convicted of a DUI depending on the facts, if no priors, then you could probably plea bargain to get an innattentive driving for example.

Regarding the insurance companies calling you, an attorney can be very helpful there as well. You don't want to be convicted of the DUI until you take care of the ins. companies and the question of liability between you and their insureds has been resolved, however.

I charge $120/hour and I require a $1000 retainer fee up front if you want me to represent you on this. My teleph # is 208-345-3817. Good Luck!

I am sorry but we do not deal with ID law. We are a firm based out of California. But if ID law is remotely close to CA law, then hiring an attorney is highly recommended.
