Legal Question in Family Law in Idaho

Amending Child Support?

I recently changed jobs due to instability of my former employer, and although my new job is much more stable, I am making quite a bit less money then I was before.

I pay $300 for 2 kids in Montana and $300 for one kid in Idaho. My wife and I also have a baby.

Would I be able to have my childsupport amended for the Idaho case due to my lowered income and one more dependent? I also believe that my first cs order was not taken into consideration when the Idaho order was placed. I have never had it amended and it is over 4 years old. Thanks

Re: Amending Child Support?

Yes, you have a substantial change in circumstances by changing jobs and income. So, you could put in a petition to modify your child support and/or custody. If your other children were not accounted for as a credit you may be able to lower your child support based on that as well as making less money. If you need to contact us our number is (208) 322-6448
