Legal Question in Family Law in Idaho

married a bigamist adulterer abuser left me with nothing and took my boys

I thought I was married for 8 and a half years to this man. He was still married to his 2nd wife in Nevada the whole time. He left me on Aug.12 01 when I found he and another woman naked in our bed with our boys in the house the entire night. He often physically and mentally abused me and my 3 sons. He got a divorce from #2 before I could have him arrested for bigamy; therefore, our marrige was null and void. Can I sue him for monitary damages for any of this , is there a statute of limitations on such a case ,I want half of the family business, alimony, durress, pain and suffering, breech of contract, any and all I can get for me and my boys who he has physically and I am in the middle of modification of custody now.

Bigamy is defined as marries another already being married. The statute of limitations on a felony, which this is, is three years. That three yr period should start at the time the crime is discovered.

I would think that you could sue him for fraud, but I have never done one of these so I can'g provide you with any specifics. You'll have to try someone else.

Once I accept a question to answer the program won't let another attorney accept it so I think you might have to send in a new question.
