Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Idaho

Can I copy and reuse a photo I took of a Mickey Mouse statue?

I own a small business specializing in wedding candles. I do not want to illegally use any Disney images on my candles, but can I take a picture of a Disney statuette, crop it in a photo editor program and reproduce it for use on my candles? I do not charge more for having an image included on a candle. Thank you for your advice.

No, this is not permissible for several reasons. Characters actually embody a number of different kinds of intellectual property rights, including copyright and trademark. Your contemplated use would likely violate both of those; you could see an attorney for detailed analysis and/or a formal opinion, but you likely have better uses for your money.
