Legal Question in Disability Law in Illinois

I am a freelance Graphic Designer and I was hired to design CD covers for a small promotion company in Chicago. I have done two designs that are being used and sold but I have not been paid for them. I need to know what legal actions I will need to take if this debt is not paid soon.

Thank you

You should first make a demand; an attorney's letter may get their attention. At the same time you would need to show you had a contract that specified your compensation.

You are absolutely entitled to payment. You do not need a contract because the law of Illinois presumes you're an employee entitled to payment for your work, in the absence of a contract. You are also entitled to attorney fees in pursuing your earned compensaiton. Feel free to call us anytime for further guidance. We represent employees routinely in recpvering unpaid wages.
