Legal Question in Administrative Law in Illinois

accusation of molestation / not indicated

I was accused of molesting my girlfriends daughter several months ago.

Initially Chicago DCF found that the report was indicated, upon appeal that decision was reversed.

Now Chicago DCF has told my fiancees' family that the girl still cannot come live with us.

Can they still use the accusation to keep her away from us despite the successful appeal of the initial ''indicated'' finding?

Her mother and I live in another state (Alabama). We are willing to co-operate with the DCF here, and work witin the system (allowing home visits or whatever they want).

Re: accusation of molestation / not indicated

I don't think you should handle this situation on your own, or rely merely on advice from LawGuru. There's a lot at stake (family relations and rights) and some significant legal issues because of the case history you described.

You should hire an attorney with experience in this area of law, particularly in the DCF.

I am not the attorney you are looking for, but I can suggest that you use the Chicago Bar Association's Lawyer Referral Service to find the right attorney for this job. Go to: www.chicagobar.org.
