Legal Question in Banking Law in Illinois

Hi:

I have a question please. My mom recently passed away and she has an online banking account. I tried to close the account but the bank needed a estate affidavit. I did not file one and just let it go because I am not responsible for her accounts etc. Today, I received a transaction from the bank and there was a 9 million that was pending transaction. I know for a fact that my mom could have not done that since she already passed away. I called the bank but they would n0t give me information since the bank is not my name. They gave me the number to call for a specialist this Monday. What should I do next?My mom cannot owe 9 million since she passed away already. How can a bank allow 9 million transaction my mom only has 2,000 in the bank. In my bank for instance there is a limit on how much u can take out. It just baffles me. Thanks

You will most likely have to open a probate estate if the bank will not simply take an affidavit. Ask the bank for the form it is looking for.
