Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Illinois

trying to get car in my name

Two years ago my sister went with me to get a car, my credit wasn't good so the dealership suggested that we put the car in my sister's name and i make the payments on time and then come back in six months to get the car in my name. We allowed two years to go by before we went back; i have been paying the car note on time for two years, i have the car note coming directly out of my checking account, which turned out to be great. Now, we go to dealership to get car in my name and because my sister's credit score had went down to a 500 because she wasn't paying her car note on time we wasn't able to do it. So now they told us to come back in six months and for her to start letting her car note come directly out of her checking account and we shouldn't have any problems getting my name on as a co-buyer and then another six months they can take my sister's name off and just keep mine. Now, my husband recently got a new car and the dealership suggested her put me on because he couldn't produce proof on income. Am i able to file bankruptcy as a co-buyer, because six months from now i don't want to be not able to get on with my sister on the car that she got me. i hope you understand my question i know it's long, Thanks
