Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Illinois

Credit cards

Hello. I have an odd question. I have a credit card. The line of credit is in my name. A spare card was issued in my boyfriends name. It didn't go off of his credit, he didn't sign anything to get it. If I file Chapter 7 bankruptcy in the state of Illinois what will happen with that. Will he be responsible for the debt, or will it be discharged. The credit line was not in his name, only a card. Thank You very much for your reply!

Re: Credit cards

I did the same for my daughter in college, IF he did not sign, he is not reponsible for charges even the ones he made, but do not trust the collectors to beleive that, so they might hassle him anyway, but he should stand his ground , make them prove he signed agreeing to charges
