Legal Question in Business Law in Illinois

cancellation/no show fees

am I liable for a cancellation/no show fee if I've signed nothing acknowledging the policy and have no prior relationship with the dr office? I attempted to cancel per phone the day before and called the wrong dr office (not affiliated with original one)with a similar practice name--even had that office call original office to verify my attempt to cancel per their answering machine. --innocent mistake, no 'cancellation policy signed, no mention of it on their confirmation mesg...no credit card number on file...am I truly liable for this fee when no agreement has been entered into and no services were provided?

Re: cancellation/no show fees

There may have been an oral agreement. I seriously doubt that the doctor will go after you for the fee and if you speak with your physician directly he or she will probably forget about the fee in order to keep your business.

But, if they wish to refuse to treat you without your paying this fee, then that is their right.
