Legal Question in Business Law in Illinois

A company stole my invention

Many years ago I invented something. I sent the idea to a national company who told me it was being considered, then denied wanting to use the product. Within one year my product was on the market stating ''patent pending''. I did not have it patented due to not being able to afford it at the time. I have the original prototype, the letters to them, their letter to me of consideration and denial. The for the product, on the product itself and in advertising were my words to the letter. Is there anything I can do about it all now? Thanks.

Re: A company stole my invention

well, the first issue is determining who put out the product that you claim you invented. if it was an independent inventor who has nothing to do with the marketing company you contacted, and he/she invented the product independently, there is probably little you can do. if, the company stole your invention (which is what i think you are stating), then you need to hire an attorney to represent you in seeking a remedy from the marketing company. I suggest you contact an intellectual property attorney (probably patent attorney) in your area....or you can always call me at 847(845-4345.....cheers!
