Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Illinois

MY GRANDDAUGHTER WAS ARRESTED FOR THEFT. THEY TOLD HER SHE DIDNT NEED AN ATTORNEY TO PLEAD GUILTY AND SHE WOULD GET A SMALLER SENTENCE. THE STATES ATTORNEYS SECRETARY(WOMANS FRIEND) TELLS THE WOMAN SHE STOLE FROM EVERYTHING GOING ON AND SPECULATES WHAT WILL HAPPEN. mY GRANDDAUGHTER WAS VERY DISTRAUGHT. HER BOYFRIEND BROKE UP WITH HER AND SHE WAS DRINKING SOUTHERN COMFORT THAT THE WOMANS DAUGHTER BOUGHT HER. MY GRANDDAUGHTER IS 18 AND DRINKING AGE IN iLLINOIS IS 21 BUT THAT IS NO EXCUSE FOR STEALING, SO i BELIEVE SHE (GRANDDAUGHTER)SHOULD BE PUNISHED. ALSO THE LADY CALLED MY GRANDDAUGHTERS DOCTORS OFFICE AND SPOKE TO THE RECEPTIONIST(HER OTHER FRIEND ) AND GOT MY GRANDDAUGHTERS MEDICAL TESTS RESULTS BY SAYING SHE WAS HER MOTHER, SHE WAS JUST SOMEONE SHE WAS LIVING WITH. BUT i DONT THINK THE STATES ATTORNEY SECRETARY SHOULD BE DISCUSSING THINGS WITH HER. I HAVE CAUGHT HER IN LIES . SHE SAID 1 RING COST 5000 MY GRANDDAUGHTER HAS TO PAY FOR IT. i DONT THINK THAT IS RIGHT WITHOUT PROOF THAT SHE STOLED IT. OTHER PEOPLE WERE STEALING THINGS TOO AND THE STATES ATTORNEY HAS THE GIRL WHO STOLE MOST OF THE JEWELRY ON VIDEO AT THE PAWN SHOP WITH MY GRANDDAUGHTER SHE GOT LESS THAN 100 DOLLARS FOR ALL THE JEWELRY THEY PAWNED SO IF THERE WAS A $5000 RING THE PAWN SHOP KNEW IT WAS STOLEN AND SHOULD HAVE REPORTED IT. AND IF YOU HAD TEENAGERS IN AND OUT OF YOUR HOUSE WOULDNT YOU LOCK UP A $5000 RING AND HAVE IT INSURED?

Have your granddaughter hire a criminal law attorney and if she can't afford one tell the court and she may be eligible for one to be appointed for her. Too many things going on here to help, especially a criminal matter, in this kind of forum.
