Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Illinois

Mistreated

I was sexually assulted and went to the police to report it.1st thing I was told to come back in 30min. so I did. I came back and waited another 30Then the police officer began to ask me what happen so I told him.Mean while a guy came in and asked another guy about a gun law and the cop stoped talking to me and answered this guys question.then i had to repeat it all to him again so he could write it down.My report was taken inthe loby.Needless to say he got the report wrong. My name, the dates, and some of the events. Next I met with the states attorney and she was very rude to me and said that we should just take a plea.then she had the nerve to ask me what I was wearing when it happened. Then there was the Victim Witness Cordnator she was suppose to let me know about my rights but she never did. I talked to her on the phone today because i got a letter from the attorney telling me what the plea was and she asked if I wanted something else.I told her what i wanted and that I wanted this man to have to register as an sexual offender and she told me oh no don't you know how bad that would disrupt his life. This case has been messed up from the beging. Is there anythingI can do about the way I was treated

Re: Mistreated

Not againt the public officials. Of course, you could file a civil lawsuit against the offender but whether you could recover any money would dep;end on whether he has any assets.
