Internet in public schools

Are educators responsible for content viewed by students (ages 11-13) on the Internet in the classroom and computer lab?

This is really just a simple question of negligence and due care. Assuming the educator exercises reasonable care sufficient to reasonably believe he/she has prevented access to improper sites which a judge might find harmful to children, then I see no grounds for liability. There is not a copyright problem of much magnitude since this is educational in nature and no copyright owner is likely to sue some 12 year old's teacher for copyright infringement provided the teacher is not printing and distributing copyrighted material beyond the classroom.
