Legal Question in Construction Law in Illinois

In my yard there is a utility pole which belongs to sbc (phone & cable co.) and a new condo was built next to my home and the company came onto property and dug a hole to install their cables with our consent. Is there any way I can have them pay for damages to my property and charge them rental fee for their pole since we do pay the taxes?

It may depend on a few things: Assuming the pole was there when you bought the house as a general rules utility poles belong to the utility companies, they have a right to add lines and go on your property to do so, they are obligated to restore your property if they damage it for their purposes, and no you can't get rent, but it may all depend on what the consent you gave them says. If it is in writing, that needs to be looked at.
