Legal Question in Consumer Law in Illinois

Auto purchase where dealer claims to have charged wrong amount week after sale w

I purchased a new car on June 2, 2001. Traded in old car. Deal was that I would pay list price for new car if dealer gave me 15,000 for my trade-in. They accepted. Deal was made. Dealer arranged financing. All transactions complete. I received a call on June 9, 2001 from my salesman stating that they wrote the price of the car down wrong. There was no sticker in new car but I subsequently found it in the glove box. They did make a $2000 error. Am I obligated to pay them?

No. You are only obligated to pay the price you agreed to, which is likely stated in your written contract of sale. If there is no written contract of sale, the dealer may have more wiggle room.
