Legal Question in Consumer Law in Illinois

Car Broken Into at Dealearship

Hi my name is--name removed and about 11 months ago i had my car broken into at a dealership while it was there to be fixed. The people caused tremendous damage to the car and also stole 5 thousand dollars worth of car stereo equipment. There was a police report filed and nothing has come of it. I have pictures of the damage and recipets for the items stolen. This had caused me a lot of problems and the car is still not right. The insurance company has not offered me anything for the stolen property. And do not seem to care. I know the dealer had cameras but i doubt that was ever looked into. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Re: Car Broken Into at Dealearship

Well, you might have a claim against the dealership for at least the damage to the car. The stereo equipment is a tougher case to win, but it is certainly worth looking into.

You should also make sure the police know that the dealership had security cameras. The sooner you push to get the video the better because you do not want the dealer to throw away the recordings.

Please feel free to give us a call if you want to talk about your case.
