Legal Question in Consumer Law in Illinois

Car Deal

I purchased (or I thought I did) a car last night. The dealer basically told me that I was going through a guarantor plan where my father in law would be on the loan with me for the first twelve months and then I would refi with only me after making the payments on time for twelve months. Well only my father in law signed because they said they just needed his signature for now. They listed the car for over $3K more than what is was listed and told me that they were ''bank fees'' the bank charged for such a loan. Well I called the bank and they told me no such fees exist nor does the program and I just found out they only put him on the title. This was just last night. Can I return the car and get out of the agreement?

Re: Car Deal

You can get out of a deal where the dealer was dishonest about material terms in the agreement. Depending on the circumstances, you may be able to get out of the deal for other reasons as well.

I suggest talking to an attorney to get all of your options sorted out and then talking to the dealer, or having your attorney talk to the dealer, as soon as possible. Feel free to contact us if you want to talk about the details.
