Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

Credit Card Judgement

I am trying to avoid a credit card judgement. My court date is Feb. 10th for a Trial on this matter. I am really confused. I have made them several offers to settle, but they are not taking any of them. I just got some savings money from my father passing away and I have nothing else. I don't own a home or my car. I just want it to be settled and I don't want a judgement on my credit. I was planning on buying my condo I rent next year and this will ruin my plans for that. Please help with some advice.

Thank You,

Lynette

Re: Credit Card Judgement

couple of solutions. Let them get a judgment and then do a settlement or fight the case. We have been successful on many of them

Re: Credit Card Judgement

Before worrying, go to trial and make them prove that you owe the debt. Is this a third party debt collector/buyer? or is this the original creditor?
