Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

Hello. I have a debt with my divorce attorney. We had an agreement of 100 every month and I stop paying him because I got hurt at work and then got fire. I told him I will continue paying him as soon as I start working again. Our agreement was made in june 2010, I got hurt in november 2010. Last week I received a settlement refund over the back injury, and yesterday I found out that my account is closed. Can I get my account unfrozen?

You have not given enough information. If your former attorney has a judgment against you, and you entered into an order for installment payments, he or she must file a motion to vacate the installment portion. If that was done when you stopped making the payments, then they can ask that your account be seized. You have certain exemptions you are entitled to raise, such as $5000 in misc. personal property such as a bank account.
