MY EX is on a deed but lives in California
OK we are Broke and we have a house in IL do i need to go back to IL too sigh the deed back in il or can i do it from california out

While I may not provide you with specific legal advice because you are not yet my client, I can say that generally speaking a person can sign the real estate sale contract, the deed, bill of sale, affidavit of title, ALTA statement, property condition disclosures, closing statement, and a power of attorney by mail from out of state. Do you have a local attorney to handle that?
