Re: house forclosure

You remain liable on your obligations to others, even if you and your ex-husband agreed otherwise. The divorce between you and your husband is not binding on others. If, however, your husband fails to pay on an obligation of yours that under the divorce he was to pay, you can sue him for breaching your divorce agreement. The only way to eliminate your obligations is to get the agreement of the creditor that you are not liable, though few creditors will grant agree to this without refinancing.
