Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

When I was legally a minor I was taken in an ambulance and I was under my parents insurance. Their insurance ended up not covering the bill and my parents refused to pay for it. I am almost 19 now and I just got a bill in the mail from a collection agency saying that if I don't pay this bill in 60 days it will affect my credit (I was never informed about this bill before)can't I do something about this?! Shouldn't my parents be legally responsible for my bills when I am a minor? This is rediculous! I feel like I shouldn't pay this bill!

Even minors can be responsible for "necessities". What you don't say is who called for the ambulance and why your parents are refusing to pay for it. And collection agencies don't care; they just want to collect. You should take the entire situation to an attorney to see if there's a reason you should be directly charged for this.
