Personal Guarantor Fraud

I received a letter from a collection agency. They want to collect on a business debt. Upon further investigation the company shared that I was a personal guarantor. I have never heard of the company that lists me as a personal guarantor nor have I signed a person guarantee application. It seems as though I am a victim of--name removed-- They sent me an affidavit to sign and want me to file a police report. Should I complete this form and file a police report? The product went to an address unknown to me. What are my legal rights? The letter from the collection agency was the first time I have received any correspondence about this account.

If you have been a victim of identity theft, then I would highly recommend filing a police report, and checking your credit report. As to the affidavit they want signed, any attorney would want to review that before they made any recommendation one way or the other.
