Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

I received a call today from a company on the east coast saying I'm about to be served a warrant for an NSF check written in Illinois on May 2, 2007. I don't remember writing the check. That account has been closed for years. And I do not recall receiving notice of this as an NSF check. Can this be prosecuted? Deb
