Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

How much should I sue for?

A friend of mine dropped my cell phone in a toilet. She promised to pay for a new phone. The phone she dropped was a $200 phone. The replacement phone was $130. I still have not received any money from her. When I take this to small claims court can I sue for the $200 and $130? She dropped my $200 phone and ruined it. If it weren't for that I would never have had to replace it.

Re: How much should I sue for?

the law for damages caused by negligence, is the replacement costs rule , so you can only sue for it's replacement cost.
