Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

y mother Passed away and had credit cards in other peoples names and social security numbers. I sent them death certificates but now they have put the bills in my name. Can they do that without my consent and am I reliable for these bills?

No they can not change the bills to your name, individually. If you are the executor or administrator they can bill you in that capacity.
