Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

Need Help ASAP

about 5 months ago my sister said that she had a safe at my dads house and it had a bunch of cash in it and it was all stolen..... because we live in the house we all became suspects i guess...... she told my dad that there was 64000 in the safe but told the police that there was only 20000 in it.... and she waited 3 days to call the police to report it stolen... the cop came and got the safe and told her that there were no pry marks in it or anything.... they asked me and my family to take a polygraph test so on july 2nd we went down to take it and they came out and said that there was a conflict and werent gonna do it.... now they called me the other day and asked us to all come take the test...... what do we do

Do not take a polygraph test and do not make any statements to the police. It is that simple. If anuyone has proof that you stole the money, they can arrest, charge and prosecute you. Otherwise, decline to participate and stick to your guns! You have a Constitutional right to remain silent. Exercise that right!
