Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
I am being charged with neglect based on statements given by my mentally handivapped clients. I admitted that I stopped at my house to grab crackers to eat but only left them for a minute,but clients said it was an hour even though they have no concept on time. I didn't get the notice in time to call the investigator because i left my husband and moved away. The charges were therefore substanciated without my statment so what can they do to me? I have two small kids and I'm afraid that my husband will get them in the divorce if I have to serve time.
